May Lunch & Learn Webinar

Join us on May 29th at noon for our Lunch & Learn Webinar with Roger Magalhaes

Topic: Maximizing Opportunities for Window Treatment Installers: A Guide to Generating Quality Leads

Window coverings aren’t just about looks – they significantly enhance a space's appeal and functionality. But for window treatment installers, the job doesn’t end with installation. It’s a chance to not only please current clients but also to secure future projects through strategic interactions. Come learn how to maximize your opportunities for business.

A native of Brazil, Roger Magalhaes moved to the United States in the year 2000 in pursuit of the American Dream. After four short years, Roger was well on his way to achieving his goal; having purchased his own home. However, as is the case with many first homes, Roger’s home was in need of some renovations. Putting in hours on his home after work and on the weekends, Roger steadily built his skill. By June 2006, construction was complete, and he decided to put his newfound skills to use.

Roger has acquired formal training and receiving certifications from respected vendors such as Somfy, Hunter Douglas, Norman Shutters and Lutron. He also attended the Custom Home Furnishings Academy for formal installation training focusing on drapery and other soft treatments.

His meticulous attention to detail and work ethic is evident in his 700+ five star client reviews. He was named Immigrant Entrepreneur Award 2022 - Outstanding Business Growth by The Immigrant Learning Center.

Roger owns Shades in Place of Boston, Shades in Place of Tampa and Trading Up Consulting.

CANCELED - March 2023 Lunch & Learn with Lea Tran

CANCELED DUE TO SPEAKER FAMILY EMERGENCY

Topic: "How to connect with your clients through Storytelling."

Building relationships with your clients can be as casual as sharing stories. In today's world, people don't just buy products and services; they buy the emotions and values that come with your stories. Stories help potential clients build trust and understand why they need to buy from us in this noisy world.

In this talk, Lea will share how she learned this skill set from her father, who led an enormous project to escape Vietnam communists to seek freedom out in the open sea with 495 other people.

As a speaker and a business skills coach, Lea Tran empowers her clients to get out of their comfort zone to embrace change in uncertain times, creating opportunities to propel them forward.

Lea is a dynamic keynote speaker, TEDx speaker, and the author of "I Did Not Miss the Boat- Memoir of A Vietnam Hoa Refugee," which highlights her personal struggles to overcome the trauma of war, poverty, and social isolation. With her multi-dimensional background and rich culture, Lea offers a fresh perspective to inspire her audience to always look for opportunities to thrive.

A graduate of Villanova University, Lea started her career as a medicinal chemist for 17 years and was an owner of a high-end drapery business for 10 years. She currently resides in Florida with her husband.
