Ralph Vasami, Esq. is a longtime association executive, strategist, and public affairs leader whose career has been distinguished by helping industries navigate change, build consensus and advance meaningful standards and initiatives.
For more than two decades, Ralph provided executive leadership to the Window Covering Manufacturers Association (WCMA) and the Window Covering Safety Council, working at the intersection of industry innovation, product safety, government relations and public policy. As Executive Director of WCMA, he played a central leadership role in the industry's continuing development and advancement of the ANSI/WCMA window covering safety standard, bringing together manufacturers, regulators, consumer safety advocates and other stakeholders around increasingly rigorous approaches to product safety.
During his tenure, the industry achieved several significant milestones, including the introduction of the Best for Kids certification program to help consumers identify cordless and inaccessible-cord products appropriate for homes with young children, and landmark revisions to the ANSI/WCMA safety standard that dramatically expanded the use of cordless and inaccessible-cord window coverings in the U.S. market. Ralph also represented the industry extensively before the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and other government and regulatory stakeholders.
