WCAA Announces Recipient of the 2018 Jill Robson Memorial Student Scholarship

The Window Coverings Association of America (WCAA) is pleased to announce that Joyce Crockett, a second-year student at Chattahoochee Technical College in Woodstock, Georgia, is the 2018 recipient of the Jill Robson Memorial Student Scholarship.
The Jill Robson Memorial Student Scholarship was founded to honor the memory of Jill Robson and to promote education in the window coverings industry for those already in the industry as well as those new to window coverings. The scholarship fund encourages and equips students by supporting their education and providing foundational learning opportunities to promote professionalism in the industry.

After thirty years of a rewarding nursing career, Crockett chose to reignite her childhood passion for creativity and design. Now, a second-year student at Chattahoochee Technical College in Woodstock, Georgia, she is studying interior design.

“The integrity of a building coupled with all the limitless possibilities for beauty and splendor is remarkable. Such inspiration prompts a desire to be a conduit to beautify another's world. I plan to fulfill this vision first through partnering with organizations such as Dwelling with Dignity,” said Crockett. “I envision working with a commercial healthcare firm.”

The concepts of universal design, code compliance, eco-friendly options, and sustainability resonate deeply with Crockett and she hopes to be able to incorporate them into her future designs.

Joyce is a volunteer with Hands on Atlanta and Habitat for Humanity. She participates in the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS), the Interior Design Club, and the Student Leadership Academy (SLA).
WCAA will officially present Crockett with her scholarship award on Tuesday, March 27th, during the Awards Ceremony at the International Window Coverings Expo in Tampa, Florida.
