The Certified Window Treatment Workroom Program (CWTW) is THE program for the professional workroom.  By achieving your CWTW designation, you will have:
  • built a solid foundation of knowledge
  • enhanced your confidence
  • increased your knowledge of best in class fabrication skills
  • gained the ability to ultimately increase your income
In addition, continuing your education with this course will help you stay ahead of your competition.
 
Study time and preparation

Strict standards are maintained for passing the examination, therefore it is recommended that you allow a minimum of six weeks for advance study of the material before taking the test. A study guide is provided and to prepare for the exam, students are advised to review the entire study guide document. Reference links and recommended reading is provided to increase the depth of understanding for each topic. 

Exam Format and scope of material covered

Exam questions are multiple choice and matching and the correct answers reflect industry accepted workroom practices as determined by the Window Coverings Association of America.  US currency and US weights and measures are the standard used throughout the study guide and on the certification exam. 

The study guide and the exam include four key areas of study:

I.  Drapery Workroom Operations
II. Style and Function
III. Yardage Calculation
IV. Fabrication Methods

 

Registration and Certification Maintenance Fees   

$50 non refundable application fee is charged for each NEW certification and is valid for one year from date of application.  This fee covers reviewing the 5 pieces of documentation, communication with member, and administrative duties.

Study Guide

$35 per guide in download format OR $50 hard copy mailed

Test fee

$175 per certification for the initial sitting
$75 Retake fee (within 3 months of initial testing)
$175 Retake fee (after 3 months of initial testing)

Recertification Fees - Due with proof of continuing education every 2 years

  • Single Certification  $75 for each certification area
  • Two certifications: $125
  • Three certifications: $175
  • Four certifications: $200
  • Five certifications: $225
After successfully completing the examination, you will receive your certification recognition package, which includes a certificate, press release, and lapel pin.

Maintaining your certification
Maintaining your certification status requires a current WCAA membership, your active participation in the industry, proof of continuing education credits, and your desire to improve level of knowledge. Additional details will be sent to you after successful completion of the course.
